Best available players after final roster cuts

Over the next few hours, about 700 men will have received official word that they are unemployed.

The deadline to cut NFL rosters down to 53 players is here, more specifically, here at 1 p.m. Saturday. There are a lot of talented players who will be cut, and some that may benefit other teams, casualties of the logjam.

Here’s the best of them:

Quarterback: Josh Freeman (Miami), T.J. Yates (Atlanta)

Running back: Raheem Mostert (Philadelphia), Storm Johnson (Jacksonville), Robert Turbin (Seattle), Montee Ball (Denver)

Wide receiver: Kenbrell Thompkins (Oakland, signed to New England’s practice squad)

Tight end: Brian Leonhardt (Oakland)

Offensive guard: Cyril Richardson (Buffalo) David Yankey (Minnesota)

Offensive tackle: Jake Rodgers (Atlanta)

Center:

Defensive tackle: Louis Nix (Houston, claimed off waivers by New York Giants) Arthur Jones (Indianapolis, passed through waivers and placed on injured reserve), Leon Orr (Oakland)

Defensive end: Da’Quan Bowers (Tampa Bay), Quentin Groves (Buffalo)

Linebacker: Lamin Barrow (Denver) Matt Shaughnessy (Arizona), Mason Foster (Chicago)

Cornerback: Rashaad Reynolds (Jacksonville), Justin Coleman (New England), Tim Jennings (Chicago, Signed with Tampa Bay)

Safety: Sanders Commings (Kansas City)

Special Teams: Steve Weatherford (P, New York Giants) Nick Novak (San Diego)
