The Sonoma County coroner’s office has identified a man who was found Saturday in Lake Ralphine in Howarth Memorial Park in Santa Rosa as 70-year-old Robert Payne.
A citizen spotted Payne’s partially submerged body in the water north of the boat launch at 620 Summerfield Road and notified police at 6:08 p.m. Saturday, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Robert Reynolds said.
Police officers did not notice any signs of trauma to Payne’s body, Reynolds said.
Payne was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m. and an autopsy has not yet been scheduled, according to the coroner’s office.
