A 22-year-old Sunnyvale man was arrested on suspicion of threatening and robbing two juvenile victims Monday evening, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
The two victims were walking home when they were confronted by a man in the 900 block of East Duane Avenue at approximately 5 p.m. The suspect demanded money from them and then lifted his shirt to display what the victims believed to be a weapon, according to the department.
One victim gave money to the suspect, who fled on foot, public safety officials said.
Shortly after the incident occurred, the victims notified authorities and provided a description, Capt. Jeff Hunter said. Shortly afterward, an officer spotted the suspect and was able to arrest him, according to Hunter.
The suspect was identified as Felix Ortiz Chavez, who was transported and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
