Livermore grass fire 70 percent contained

A grass fire that has burned 2,500 acres in Alameda County east of Livermore is 70 percent contained Friday morning, according to Cal Fire.

Tesla and Corral Hollow roads should open late this afternoon, Cal Fire Battalion Chief Brandon Leitzke said. Fire officials have lifted all evacuations and no one has reported any injuries, he said.

The fire has destroyed only one structure, an abandoned building belonging to the California Department of Parks and Recreation, fire officials said. A parks ranger used to stay in the building years and years ago, Cal Fire fire prevention specialist Pam Temmermand said.

Crews will be putting out hot spots Saturday and Sunday as they have the last 48 hours, Leitzke said.
