An acid leak in a container at a Port of Oakland marine terminal Thursday afternoon was contained without any injuries and without any materials getting into the water, a port spokesman said.
The leak involved nitric acid and phosphoric acid, according to port spokesman Mike Zampa.
Oakland firefighters responded to the leak at 4:09 p.m. but have since cleared the scene, an Oakland Fire Department spokeswoman said.
A private company is now cleaning up the materials that leaked, Zampa said.
