A man accidentally shot himself Wednesday evening outside King City in unincorporated Monterey County, according to sheriff’s deputies.
Around 6:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 52000 block of Pine Canyon Road on report of a man who had shot himself.
Deputies found 25-year-old Skylor Smith suffering from a single gunshot wound to the torso from a Ruger .357 Magnum revolver. He told deputies the incident had been accidental, and pleaded for help.
Smith was transported to a hospital with wounds that were not thought to be life-threatening, according to deputies.
