The Contra Costa County coroner’s office Thursday identified a 30-year-old man killed Tuesday morning inside a marijuana growing operation in Pittsburg.
Authorities found the man, identified by the coroner’s office as Jerron Griffin, of Pittsburg, inside a warehouse in the 500 block of Garcia Avenue.
Officers responded around 3 a.m. to a report of a disturbance at the warehouse. They found Griffin already dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to Pittsburg police.
Police said it appeared Griffin got into an argument with an unidentified suspect, who shot him.
Investigators found marijuana plants inside the warehouse and other evidence that it was being used as a grow operation, police said.
Anyone with information about the shooting has been asked to contact Pittsburg police Detective Robert Thompson at (925) 252-4194 or a tip line at (925) 427-7369.
