A man was stabbed in the back early Tuesday morning in San Francisco’s Upper Market neighborhood, police said today.
At about 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, the victim was hanging out with friends in a parking lot in the 2000 block of Market Street when a male suspect approached, according to police.
The suspect stabbed the man in the back and then fled on foot, police said.
Police said the suspect has not been arrested and that the victim was treated at San Francisco General Hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening.
The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation.
