A 20-year-old male student at the University of California at Berkeley was robbed at gunpoint early Friday morning, campus police said.

The student was contacted by two suspects on Spieker Plaza, east of the Haas Pavilion, at about 12:30 a.m., according to police.

The student later called campus police but when campus and Berkeley police searched the area they didn’t find the suspects.

Campus police released only a vague description of the suspects, saying one was a male with dark complexion about 20 years old who is about 6 feet tall with a slim build who was wearing dark clothing and the other was a malewith dark complexion about 20 years old who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and was wearing a dark green top and dark pants was and armed with a silver handgun.

UC Berkeley police said people who have information about the armed robbery should call them at (510) 642-0472 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or at (510) 642-6760 at all other times.
