Police are receiving calls about a dead marine mammal on a beach in Pacifica today, according to dispatchers.
The carcass, which appears to be some sort of whale, was found sometime this morning on Esplanade Beach, south of Mussel Rock Park.
Further details about the whale and its exact location were not immediately available.
