Divers recover man’s body from Russian River

The body of a Los Angeles-area resident was found in the Russian River Tuesday morning, a Forestville Fire Protection District captain said.
The man went missing Monday evening at Sunset Beach River Park in Forestville. Firefighters from Monte Rio, the Russian River Fire Protection District and Forestville responded with Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies around 8 p.m.
Forestville Fire Capt. James Deurloo said the man was found between 10:30 and 11 a.m. today. The man’s name is not yet being released but he is from the Los Angeles area, Deurloo said.
Monte Rio Fire Protection District Chief Steve Baxman said the man was found by the sheriff’s office dive team in six feet of water near Sunset Beach.
The man’s family searched for him before calling authorities, and they were at the river again Tuesday morning, Baxman said.
