Wragg fire 65 percent contained

A wildfire in Napa and Solano counties that has burned more than 6,500 acres was 65 percent contained as of Sunday evening, according to Cal Fire.

Firefighters had contained 65 percent of the fire as of 7 p.m. Cal Fire officials reported Saturday that the fire, known as the Wragg Fire, burned 6,900 acres, but lowered that to 6,591 acres Sunday, Cal Fire officials said.

The first report of the fire came in at 2:24 p.m. Wednesday off state Highway 128 near Greaves Road, Lake Berryessa.

Cal Fire officials said the fire destroyed two outbuildings and two vehicles and damaged three more outbuildings and a home.

The fire has also damaged a water supply wellhead, other minor structures and a walnut orchard, according to Cal Fire.

Crews continue to battle the blaze with dozers as well as by hand in rugged and steep terrain. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but an auto collision or crash may have started the fire, Cal Fire officials said.
