A San Francisco Municipal Railway bus struck a pedestrian in the city’s Mission District on Friday morning, according to police.
At about 7:15 a.m. Friday, a woman in her 60s was crossing the street at the intersection of South Van Ness Avenue and 25th Street when a Muni bus struck her, police said.
The pedestrian was in a crosswalk when she was hit, police said.
She suffered a laceration to her head and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.
Muni spokesman Paul Rose said the Muni bus was traveling on the outbound 12-Folsom/Pacific line when it struck the pedestrian.
Rose said the bus driver stopped and remained at the scene. The driver underwent a drug and alcohol test, which is standard protocol following a collision.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, police said.
