A woman pushing her child in a stroller was robbed at gunpoint and struck in the neck Thursday morning, San Rafael police said.
The incident happened around 9:40 a.m. in the Shoreline Parkway between the Target store and Shoreline Parkway, Cpl. Ronda Reese said.
The male suspect walked toward the woman as she was pushing the stroller on the pathway and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at her, Reese said.
The woman turned to walk away and the man told her to stop and asked how much money she had, Reese said. The woman opened her wallet and the man struck her on the neck with his hand, took the wallet and fled east on Shoreline Parkway, Reese said.
Police searched the area but did not find the suspect.
Reese said the suspect is white, 25-30 years old, clean-shaven with a medium build and short brown hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants and had skull tattoos on his left arm.
Police are asking anyone with information to call them (415) 485-3000 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
