Tens of thousands ran, walked and stumbled across San Francisco Sunday morning for the 103rd running of the Zappos.com Bay to Breakers footrace.
Kenyans Isaac Mukundi Mwangi and Jane Kibii won the men’s and women’s elite divisions, respectively, according to event organizers.
Police arrested 11 people during this morning’s Bay to Breakers footrace in San Francisco, police said.
Officers arrested five people on suspicion of felonies, three people on suspicion of misdemeanors and three people on suspicion of being drunk in public, according to police.
Medical crews responded to 14 medical calls and police said 10 people were treated at sobering centers.
Police said the arrest numbers are subject to change.
The race began at 8 a.m. near the Embarcadero and finished at Ocean Beach. The annual 12-kilometer race has been held every year since 1912, according to event organizers.
