Suspect, slain Vallejo teen knew each other

Vallejo police said Saturday the Jesse Bethel High School teen shot dead Thursday along a trail near the high school on Ascot Parkway and the murder suspect knew each other.
Police identified the suspect as 19-year-old Zachery Kroll of Vallejo. The slain teen was identified as 17-year-old Kenneth Maxwell Rusk of Vallejo, according to the Solano County coroner’s office.
Kroll was arrested during a traffic stop on the east side of Vallejo around 12:10 a.m. today and booked in the Solano County Jail on suspicion of murder, Lt. Kenny Park said.
Police responded to a report of a shooting near a skate park in the 1800 block of Ascot Parkway at 11:55 a.m. Thursday. Both the nearby Jesse Bethel High School and Joseph Wardlaw Elementary School were locked down until 12:36 p.m.
