A Rohnert Park man was arrested at his apartment Tuesday on suspicion of having sex with his ex-girlfriend’s 12-year-old daughter, according to the city’s Department of Public Safety.
The girl’s mother called Santa Rosa police around 10:30 p.m.
Tuesday to report that her daughter had just been dropped off at her West Avenue home in Santa Rosa by her ex-boyfriend, 45-year-old Hector Farias, public safety officials said.
The mother said she and Farias had recently separated and Farias was still like a father to her daughter, so he picked her up from school and took her out to eat, according to the department.
The girl said Farias had driven her to a home in Rohnert Park, sexually assaulted her and dropped her off near her home.
The girl was taken to a hospital and Rohnert Park public safety officers were notified and took
over the investigation.
Rohnert Park officers went to Farias’ apartment, where he was taken into custody.
The girl led detectives to another residence on Santa Cruz Way in Rohnert Park, where she said Farias gave her something to drink, which might have been laced with something, and sexually assaulted her, public safety officials said.
The girl said other young girls were in the house and it appeared they were being held against their will.
Detectives searched the house but did not find anyone there nor any sign anyone was being held against their will, according to the department.
Detectives found a marijuana grow operation and evidence it was being sold from the house, public safety officials said.
Farias was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of sexual assault of a minor under age 16 and committing sex acts by force or fear with a child under 14.
He is being held under $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court on Friday afternoon.
