Boy runs into side of car, airlifted to hospital
A 7-year-old boy who ran into the side of a moving car in Antioch Saturday afternoon suffered major injuries and had to be airlifted to the hospital, according to police.

Officers responded shortly before 3 p.m. to a report of a juvenile who ran into the side of a car in the 500 block of Rossi Avenue, Antioch police Lt. John Vanderklugt said.
Vanderklugt said the child’s mother was on scene and corroborated witnesses’ accounts.
The driver was cooperative and even called police to report the incident, Vanderklugt said.
The boy suffered major injuries as a result of the collision but Vanderklugt said that as of around 9:45 p.m. Saturday, the hospital had not provided on update on his condition.
Vanderklugt said he did not know why the boy ran into traffic.
