Curry tops Curry for three-point record

Going into Thursday’s contest, Stephen Curry needed four three-pointers to tie his own NBA record of 272 three’s made in a single season set in 2012-2013.

With three seconds left in the opening quarter, Curry pulled up off a pass from Andre Iguodala for a three tying the record.

At the 4:38 mark of the second quarter — with the Warriors down 49-36 — Curry broke the record hitting a 28-foot three and continued to tack on the treys through the night going 8-of-13 from distance in 35 minutes.

After Curry hit the record-breaking shot, he was shown on the jumbo screen with the record and the crowd rose to their feet and went from deafening applause to arena-wide chants of ‘MVP.’

Curry finished the night with the fifth-highest scoring night of his career with 45 points, closing the game with 19 points in the final quarter as the owner of the new single-season record for most three-pointers made at 276.
