Major medical emergency causes BART delays

A major medical emergency at the El Cerrito Plaza BART station this morning is prompting delays for trains, BART officials said.

BART issued an alert shortly after 9:40 a.m. saying the emergency at the station at 6699 Fairmount Ave. is causing delays for trains on the Richmond, Fremont and Millbrae lines.

The station is closed while authorities respond to the emergency, BART officials said. No other information about the incident was immediately available this morning.
