A female suspect who allegedly trespassed the airfield at Mineta San Jose International Airport Tuesday evening has been arrested, a police spokesman said.
Officers responded to a report of an unknown female walking east across the airfield of the airport around 5:15 p.m., San Jose police Officer Albert Morales said. Arriving officers contacted the suspect at the southeast corner of the airport near Gate 118, but she resisted them, Morales said.
The suspect was then subdued and taken into custody, he said. She did not identify herself to officers and had no identification with her, according to Morales. She was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of trespassing and resisting arrest, he said.
A preliminary investigation indicated the suspect may have jumped over a fence at the southwest corner of the airport near Gate 168 and walked east on the airfield until police found her, Morales said.
San Jose airport has suffered a series of security breaches on their airfields, including a case in January and two successful stowaways in 2014. Serial stowaway Marilyn Hartman was jailed in 2014 after several attempts to board planes as an unauthorized passenger.
