Two armed robberies hit Petaluma

Petaluma police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred within an hour of each other this morning and were possibly committed by the same suspect or suspects.

The Quik Stop at 1510 E. Washington St. was robbed at 5:28 a.m. and the Valero gas station at 910 Baywood Drive was robbed at 6:19 a.m.

The robber mentioned a gun but it was not seen, police said. The primary suspect is a white man believed to be in his 20s. He wore a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with a white stripe and black sweatpants with a white stripe down the leg, according to police.

A person of interest who possibly was associated with the primary suspect is a Hispanic man in his 20s who was wearing a white San Jose Sharks cap, a white and gray polo shirt and had a backpack, police said.

A vehicle was not seen at either robbery and the suspects fled on foot, police said.
