Two men killed in an apparent murder-suicide at a Palo Alto senior living facility Thursday afternoon have been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
Marc Miller, 69, is suspected of shooting and killing Vincent Collins, 70, before killing himself in an elevator at the Alta Torre Apartments, a 56-unit senior living complex at 3895 Fabian Way.
Police responded to reports of an injured person in an elevator there at 3:19 p.m. and found Miller dead inside with a semi-automatic handgun in his lap. Investigators determined he had killed himself. Officers checking the area then found Collins dead in a first-floor office with multiple gunshot wounds. Both men lived in the complex, according to police.
The apartments are operated by BRIDGE Housing, a nonprofit devoted to providing affordable housing throughout the Bay Area. Police are still working to determine a possible motive for the shooting.
