After being stung by a painful strike that affected transit riders throughout the Bay Area in 2013, BART union and management negotiators struck a deal to avoid work stoppages for at least five years.
A major medical emergency has closed the Balboa Park BART station in San Francisco this afternoon, transit agency officials said.
The station located at 401 Geneva Ave. was closed around 12:30 p.m., agency officials said.
UPDATE 2:37 p.m. Body reportedly under train at Balboa BART.Trains are experiencing a major delay between the 24th Street and San Francisco International Airport stations, BART officials said.
The closure is impacting trains traveling in the San Francisco International Airport, Millbrae and East Bay directions, according to BART officials.
