One dead, four hospitalized in bus crash

One person died and four were injured in a collision between a Tri Delta Transit bus and a vehicle in Antioch Thursday morning, the transit agency’s CEO said.

The crash was reported at 5:46 a.m. at Davison Drive and Burwood Way.

The collision occurred when the bus was traveling east on Davison when a vehicle traveling north on Burwood pulled in front of it, Tri Delta Transit CEO Jeanne Krieg said.

The driver of the car died at the scene, while four of the six passengers aboard the bus requested transport to a hospital, Krieg said.

She did not immediately have an update on their conditions this morning.

The male driver of the bus was not injured, Krieg said.

The bus went off of the roadway and came to a stop up a small incline on the side of the road, she said.

Antioch police were not immediately available to provide additional details about the crash.
