Mom, dad, 3 kids hurt in Mission fire

The five people hospitalized Wednesday morning in a two-alarm apartment fire in San Francisco’s Mission District were all family members, firefighters said.

A father, mother and three children, two boys and a girl, were hospitalized after the fire broke out at a three-story building in the 3000 block of 24th Street, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Three of the five people who were injured were transported to the hospital with injuries that were life threatening. The injuries were reportedly from smoke inhalation, firefighters said. Firefighters responded to the fire around 4:30 a.m. and had the fire under control around 5 a.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
