Police detain three in alleged late night homicide

Police in Antioch are investigating an apparent homicide that took place late Monday, police said.

An officer on patrol heard a gunshot at 11:18 p.m. and saw a vehicle without its lights on driving away from Hudson Court, according to police.

The officer tried to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued, police said.

The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into the garage of a home in the 1700 block of Mahogany Way in Antioch, according to police.

No one in the home was injured.

When officers checked the area where they heard the gunshot, they found the body of a man with an apparent gunshot wound, police said.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have detained the three people that drove away from Hudson Court.

No more information is available at this time, according to police.
