Three convicted felons nabbed with guns, drugs

Police in Morgan Hill arrested three convicted felons Thursday afternoon after responding to a report of a man brandishing a firearm from inside a recreational vehicle on U.S. Highway 101.

Officers responding to the area of Highway 101 and East Dunne Avenue found the RV and two additional vehicles parked along the northbound shoulder.

After conducting a high-risk stop on the parked vehicles, officers allegedly found a loaded .22 caliber handgun, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia.

All three suspects were convicted felons, which prohibits them from possession of firearms or ammunition, according to police.

Officers subsequently arrested Gilbert Maldonado, 50, Hector Maldonado, 31, and Devina Ojeda, 22, all from San Jose.

Hector Maldonado was wanted for violating the terms of his Post-release Community Supervision (PRCS), and Ojeda was on active felony probation out of Santa Clara County, according to police.

The Morgan Hill Police Department is asking anyone with additional information about the case to call Detective Jason Broyer at (408) 779-2101. Anonymous callers can dial (408) 947-7867.
