J-Church resumes after water main break

Crews from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission pumped water from a pipe that broke in the city’s Glen Park neighborhood Sunday morning that impacted the J-Church San Francisco Municipal Railway Metro line, a spokeswoman said.

The break was reported shortly before 8:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Roanoke Street between Arlington Street and San Jose Avenue, SFPUC spokeswoman Catania Galvan said. Utilities crews arrived to the scene at about 9 a.m. and are working to determine the cause of the break, she said.

Crews continued to pump water from the pipe as of about 12:30 p.m., according to Galvan. Service has not been disrupted for customers in the residential area, Galvan said.

Westbound San Jose Avenue is closed in the area as crews are at the scene, according to Galvan. Shuttles were running on Muni’s J-Church line from 30th and Church streets to Geneva and San Jose avenues due to the break, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said.

The shuttles were canceled around 11:50 a.m. when regular service resumed to the J-Church line, Rose said
