A U.S. Coast Guard crew rescued six people in the waters off San Francisco’s Crissy Field late this morning, a spokesman said.
The Coast Guard received a report of an outrigger canoe taking on the water near Crissy Field shortly before 11:30 a.m., Coast Guard Ensign Jake Urrutia said.
A 47-foot motor lifeboat crew responded to the scene and found six people from the canoe in the water, he said.
The crew rescued all six people and they were taken to Station Golden Gate to be evaluated by emergency crews waiting on shore, according to Urrutia.
Urrutia was not aware of any injuries to the six people or why the boat was taking on water.
