Concord police zap unruly teen with Taser

Police used a Taser stun gun to take a student at a high school in Concord into custody when he became violent at the school on Thursday, police said.

Around 1:45 p.m., a school resource officer at Mt. Diablo High School at 2450 Grant St. was notified that a student was being violent on campus, police said. The officer arrived to find the student screaming and challenging school officials with violence, according to police.

Police said the officer tried to calm the student to no avail. The student allegedly threatened and assaulted the officer, police said. The officer then used a Taser to place the student in custody. Police said the student was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated.

Police arrested the student on suspicion of charges for assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. Anyone with information regarding the case is encouraged to call Concord police at (925) 671-3030 or the confidential tip line at (925) 603-5836.
