A pizza restaurant robbery in El Cerrito turned into a shooting that left an employee injured Monday night, police said.
The robbery at Little Caesars Pizza at 11299 San Pablo Ave. happened around 8:20 p.m., police said. Two men went inside the business and demanded for money from an employee, according to police. One of the men was armed with a handgun and shot the employee, police said.
The men fled with cash and were last seen running from the shopping area’s parking lot, according to police. The suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 20s or 30s wearing dark clothing, police said.
They were wearing sweatshirts with their hoods covering their faces, according to police. The employee was transported to a trauma center but an update on his condition was not immediately available tonight.
