A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a dump truck in Woodside Monday afternoon, a San Mateo County Sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
Deputies were notified of the collision at Canada Road and Olive Hill Lane around 3:15 p.m., San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said. A 43-year-old Redwood City man driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was in the blind spot of the dump truck when the collision occurred, according to Rosenblatt.
UPDATE 2/17 Harley rider killed in crash identified.The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries, she said. A 61-year-old Burlingame man driving the dump truck remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators, Rosenblatt said. Alcohol or drugs don’t appear to be a factor in the collision, she said.
The intersection has been closed and was expected to reopen around 6:30 p.m., she said. Rosenblatt said the incident is “not thought to be a criminal accident, just an unfortunate accident.” The San Mateo County coroner’s office responded to the scene.
