Pimp cops plea after motel bust

A man caught with two prostitutes in a South San Francisco motel room last year pleaded no contest two counts of pimping Monday, prosecutors said.

Roy Kellum, 22, was found at the Travelodge at 326 S. Airport Blvd. on Feb. 19, 2014 with two women in their late teens, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office. Kellum was on felony probation and investigators searched the room, finding evidence he was pimping the two women and advertising their services on the now-defunct prostitution website MyRedBook.com, prosecutors said.

The two women told police that Kellum was their pimp as well. The case was set to go to jury trial Monday but at the last minute Kellum changed his mind and took a plea deal with prosecutors to plead no contest to the two counts in exchange for no more than three years in state prison.

Kellum was released on his own recognizance and ordered to return to court on Feb. 23 for sentencing, prosecutors said.
