Fatal shooting marks tenth Oakland homicide

A man was shot and killed outside a convenience store in the Adams Point neighborhood in Oakland Thursday night, police said.

The victim has been identified as Alfred Nunnery Sr., a 38-year-old Oakland resident, according to Oakland police officer Frank Bonifacio.

Nunnery was reportedly involved in an argument outside a market in the 3200 block of Harrison Street just before he was shot around 9:05 p.m.

The suspect left the scene prior to the arrival of police.

Bonifacio said this morning that due to the time of the call, investigators had worked overnight and hope to release more information by early afternoon.

This is the tenth homicide in Oakland so far this year, Bonifacio said.

Anyone with additional information about the case is asked to call the Oakland Police Department homicide section at (510) 238-3821.
