Woman ditches cops on golf course after chase

Police are searching for a woman officers said assaulted a police officer in Burlingame on Tuesday.

Police said the suspect, identified as Jessica Lawler, 22, struck a Burlingame police officer with the vehicle she was driving. Lawler then fled the area and was later seen by Hillsborough police officers in the area of Interstate Highway 280 and Golf Course Drive in Hillsborough, police said.

Lawler allegedly fled from police, drove onto the Crystal Springs Golf Course and onto the 1500 block of Hayne Road before she exited her vehicle and was seen by witnesses getting into an unknown white vehicle and fleeing the area, police said.

Lawler is wanted on suspicion of assault on a police officer, evading arrest and on several other charges, police said.
