Thief lifts iPhone, escapes in stolen car

Police are looking for a man who stole an iPhone in Daly City and fled in a stolen car earlier this week.

On Tuesday around 1:50 p.m., the man entered an AT&T store and told an employee he wanted a cellphone for his daughter, police said.

The man stayed inside the store for about 10 to 15 minutes then stole an iPhone from a counter while the employee wasn’t looking, according to police.

The suspect then ran out the store and into a black Toyota RAV4, police said.

The SUV had a license plate number of 6PUW608 and was stolen out of Sacramento, according to police.

The suspect is described as a black man between 25 and 35 years old, roughly 6 feet tall and about 220 pounds with a stocky build, police said.

He wore a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey and baseball cap and jeans at the time of the incident, according to police.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Daly City police at (650) 991-8119.
