Two shootings took place within a half hour and a half-mile of each other in San Francisco’s Visitacion Valley neighborhood Saturday evening, according to a police dispatcher.
The double shootings follow a fatal shooting in the same neighborhood on Tuesday night that left a 33-year-old man dead and a non-fatal shooting on Thursday night that hospitalized a 26-year-old man.
Officers responded to a report of a possible drive-by shooting around 7 p.m. in the unit block of Heritage at Rey Street in Visitacion Valley, a dispatcher said. Emergency medical personnel transported a man with a gunshot wound to his arm to San Francisco General Hospital and the dispatcher said he was in stable condition.
Around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Santos Street and Brookdale Avenue where they located a man with a gunshot wound to his lower back, a dispatcher said. The dispatcher said the man was in serious condition and was transported to a local hospital.
The shooting occurred within a block of the two shootings earlier this week and roughly a half-mile from the shooting earlier in the day. Police are investigating the incidents and no further details were immediately available.
