Olivia and Lucas topped the charts in San Mateo County last year for the most popular baby names for girls and boys, respectively, according to data released this week from the county’s assessor-recorder office.
Of the 5,879 babies born in the county up to the last day of the year, 2,827 were girls and 3,052 were boys. There were 45 Olivias and 34 Lucases.
The second-most popular girl’s name was Emma, with 30 babies given the moniker. For boys, it was Alexander with 32.
