A man was struck and killed by a car in East San Jose early Sunday morning, a police spokeswoman said.
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a man in the area of Aborn and South White roads around 5:50 a.m., San Jose police Sgt. Heather Randol said. Arriving officers found the man suffering from serious injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, Randol said.
The man was in a wheelchair crossing the street on Aborn Road where he was hit by a car going east, she said. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, Randol said.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision, according to Randol.
