Walnut Creek police have apprehended a suspect wanted for a homicide in San Francisco following a search that prompted the lockdown of two schools late Wednesday morning, police said.
Officers were searching for a homicide suspect who ran from officers. The search prompted the lockdowns of Buena Vista Elementary School and Contra Costa Christian School, Walnut Creek police said.
Buena Vista Elementary School is located at 2355 San Juan Ave. and Contra Costa Christian School is located at 2721 Larkey Lane. The two schools are roughly one mile apart.
The lockdowns were lifted and the suspect was taken into custody as of shortly after noon, police said. No other details about the case were immediately available this afternoon.
