Police are directing traffic after the spill of a substance in San Francisco’s Haight Ashbury neighborhood this afternoon, according to a police dispatcher.
The dispatcher said officers responded to a report of a traffic jam in the area of Oak Street and Masonic Avenue around 2 p.m.
The Department of Public Works has been called to bring a street sweeper to the scene and clear the spill, the dispatcher said.
She said the report didn’t identify the substance.
The official Twitter account for the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management urged resident to “avoid the area…due to a report of an oil spill.”
There were no reports of any injuries or collisions related to the spill and police are directing traffic around it, the dispatcher said.
