Caltrain death causes major delays

A Caltrain struck and killed a person on the tracks south of the Millbrae station this morning, a Caltrain spokeswoman said.

Northbound Caltrain No. 423 struck a person on the tracks around 9:10 a.m. eight-tenths of a mile south of the Millbrae station, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.

The station is located at located at 100 California Drive.

There are 720 passengers on the train, Dunn said.

No injuries were reported to anyone on the train, she said.

Major delays are expected as no trains are allowed to operate in the area, Dunn said.

Emergency crews are at the scene, she said.

Caltrain is working to set up a bus bridge for passengers between the Millbrae station and Broadway station in Burlingame, according to Dunn.
