A stabbing occurred in Concord on Saturday morning outside of a class for motorists who have been cited for driving under the influence, police said Monday.
Police said the incident occurred in the vicinity of Stanwell Drive and Concord Avenue at roughly 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Detective Joe Higby said:
“Two young guys at a DUI class got into a verbal argument.”
One had a knife and stabbed the other.” The victim, a 23-year-old Martinez resident, reportedly suffered superficial injuries. He was uncooperative at the scene and police said the victim did not want the case prosecuted.
The suspect, a 25-year-old resident of Bay Point, later contacted the authorities to turn himself in. Police are currently withholding the identities of both men and the case remains under investigation.
