Officer involved in shooting by Mission police station

San Francisco police are responding to an officer-involved shooting near the Mission police station on Valencia Street this evening, police said.

A witness said Valencia Street is closed off between 17th and 18th streets and at least one person was transported to the hospital.

The witness said he heard six or seven gunshots before a swarm of police cars rolled through the area.

Officer Albie Esparza said she would have more information shortly.
