Pooch missing after SJ house fire

A dog is unaccounted for after a fire damaged a home in East San Jose this morning, a fire captain said.

The one-alarm blaze was reported at 8:36 a.m. in the 2800 block of Bouveron Court and firefighters arrived within seven minutes, San Jose fire Capt. Christopher Salcido said.

The flames damaged the home as well as a vehicle in the driveway that leaked fuel, Salcido said.

Firefighters notified the Santa Clara Valley Water District to make sure no fuel made its way into local waterways, he said.

The fire was eventually contained as of 9:20 a.m. and firefighters remained at the scene late this morning to make sure it did not flare back up, Salcido said.

No one was injured in the fire but a dog at the home was unaccounted for, he said.

Three people have been displaced from the home, Salcido said.

He said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
