One dead, two injured in bicycle crash

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision in Contra Costa County this morning.

Officers responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and bicyclist at Highland and Carneal roads around 9:45 a.m., CHP officials said.

The bicyclist was killed in the collision and the Contra Costa County coroner’s office has been called to the scene, according to the CHP.

One person suffered major injuries and another suffered minor injuries in the crash, CHP officials said.

No further details were immediately available.
