Richmond apartment shooting injures three

Richmond police are searching for suspects in connection with a shooting Friday evening that left three people injured.

The shooting occurred around 9:35 p.m. when four people in a vehicle pulled into the carport of an apartment complex on the 3100 block of Southampton Court, according to Lt. Andre Hill.

As they got out of the car they were confronted by a group of three males and, for reasons that remain unclear, an argument started between the groups, Hill said.

One of the males that had approached the car allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at the four people who had been in the car, wounding two adult males and one adult female.

All three were transported to hospitals, one of them in critical condition, but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening, Hill said.

The cause of the dispute remains under investigation, but Hill said it did not appear to be gang related.

Police are searching now for a possible suspect vehicle, a white BMW or Mercedes SUV that fled the scene after the shooting.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Richmond police at (510) 621-9902.
