Magnitude 2.8 quake rattles Concord

A 2.8-magnitude earthquake struck in Concord Monday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck at 12:20 p.m. and was centered 2 miles north-northeast of Pleasant Hill and 5 miles north of Walnut Creek, USGS officials said.

The temblor had a depth of 10.7 miles, USGS officials said.
