Officers responded to a request for a welfare check at Grassland and Whitehoof ways where a man was possibly sleeping on a sidewalk around 2:25 a.m., Sgt. Tom Fuhrmann said.

Arriving officers found a man unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound at the intersection, Fuhrmann said.

Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, according to the sergeant.

  • There was a shooting almost every day in Antioch this week! All of the decent people who can manage to move away will surely be doing so. The city is going straight to hell.
